North Pole Village jpeg_edited.jpg

The North Pole Village is the result of a request made in 2024 by an ardent collector of my Kringleton Valley collection.

The original request was for a series of three structures to consist of Santa's house and workshop, a dormitory for the elves, and a reindeer barn. Over the course of working with the collector on the designs, the request expanded to include a post office, a cookie kitchen for Mrs. Claus, and north pole sign.

The red and green color theme matches the other pieces of the client's collection and they specifically asked for no snow on the roofs. For cohesion certain architectural elements and landscape details are consistent across all pieces of the village.

The many detailed, custom designed windowscapes throughout show the North Pole residents busily working in preparation for the holiday season.

The village is crafted primarily in 30pt chipboard with some wooden and natural material accents. Each original design is individually cut out, painted, decorated, assembled, and landscaped completely by hand. I design doors, windows and other printed accents on my computer and print on paper. The pieces can be illuminated by placing a small LED or other low temperature light through the access hole in the back of each structure. But care must be taken as each piece is made of primarily of chipboard and paper.
